What is distance for me?

  • Space.
  • Space between objects.
  • Space between people.
  • Space between objects and people.
  • The value that my eyes use to measure the space between me and another thing.
  • If something is far away from me, there is a distance from me to that object.
  • I carry distance with me all the time.
  • Home. (I want to leave when I’m there, I miss it when I’m away.)
  • Memories. (They get too distant too soon for me.)
  • Unfamiliarity.
  • Unknown.
  • Time.
  • Somewhereelseness.
  • Space in between what is present and what is not.
  • It’s inside my head.
  • It’s 3D.
  • It could be in gas, liquid or solid form.
  • It could be a simple line.
  • The thing that connects two things other than itself.
  • Progress.
  • Deterioration.
  • Inverse of distance: closeness.
  • Ways to create distance: verbal, expressional, body language, gestural, reactive
  • Digital world: Makes it easy and/or hard to overcome distance.
  • Easy: mobile, email, facebook, twitter, skype, blogs
  • Hard: asynchronous, easy to ignore/dismiss/forget
  • Sound
  • Radio
  • We perceive distance by eyes, ears, touch and smell.
  • Eyes -> Visual perception
  • Ears -> Auditory perception
  • Touch -> Haptic perception
  • Smell -> Odor perception

I'm going to throw here any kind of idea, question, inspiration, non-relavant information, frustration, feeling, writing, musing, music, picture, video and in short, all kinds of sense and non-sense. You're welcomed to share any of the above with me if my posts spark something in you.
